Thank you for your interest in the Grosse Ile Youth Recreation Association Baseball and Softball program. 
Along with all the GIYRA programs, we are entirely run through the efforts of volunteers. 
For years, people have given their time to create a fun and positive experience for our kids. 
We owe all those people a huge thank you for their efforts and we, the 2024 GIYRA Baseball & Softball Board,
look forward to carrying on the tradition of a great program.

Important Dates:

-Registration opens February 1, 2024

-Registration closes March 15, 2024

-Late Registration opens March 16, 2024 and stays open until all roster spots are full.
Note: $25 Late Registration Fee applies.

-Draft and Team Formations late March

-Practice starts in April (weather permitting)

-Field Clean Up and Season Prep - April 

-Season Start - Mid May

-End of Season-  Tball and 8u before July 4th, all others mid to late July.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

PLEASE REGISTER EARLY! We strongly encourage all players to register early!  The number of teams per division and age group will be decided by the number of registered players and coaches available.  Register early to increase your chance of being assigned to a team. 

A SPECIFIED NUMBER OF TEAMS PER DIVISION WILL BE IDENTIFIED DURING THE REGISTRATION PERIOD FOR SELECT AGE GROUPS! REGISTRANTS FOR SELECT AGE GROUPS MAY BE ADDED TO A WAIT LIST WHILE INDIVIDUAL TEAMS ARE FILLED. REGISTRANTS ON WAIT LISTS ARE NOT GUARANTEED A SPOT ON A TEAM. REGISTRATION FOR SPECIFIC AGE GROUPS MAY BE CLOSED WITHOUT NOTICE. 

PLAYER FEES AND ELIGIBLE BIRTH DATES

There is a one time registration cost plus a field development fee.  We are in the process of raising funds for new baseball and softball fields - 100% of the field development fee will go towards funding these fields.  We are also accepting monetary donations as well!
 

Baseball Age cutoff date is May 1st of the current year. 
Softball cutoff date is January 1st of the current year.  

***When you register your child, it will display what divisions he or she should be in based on their birth date.***

T-BALL

Co-ed Boys / Girls

 Registration for T-Ball will remain open until all teams are filled.  

T-ball is restricted to boys and girls born between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2019. The development of the players drives this decision as we prepare them for the next step of baseball or softball. 

P.S. We typically always have room for more T-Ballers, so don’t hesitate to register.  You should always check with us regarding openings should you register later in the season.  So come on out and join us!

BASEBALL

The cutoff date for Baseball is May 1st of the current year. The age as of May 1 will determine the program you will play in.   Please see chart above for Player Fees and Eligible Ages per Division.  

Baseball 8U, 10U, and 12U

Standard registration period ends March 15th. Late fees will be applied to those registering after this date.

Baseball 14U and High School (HS)

Register Early!  Wait Lists may apply!   Teams may be closed based on the availability of Coaches and the number of registered players.

No late registration fees apply.

SOFTBALL

The cutoff date for Softball is January 1st of the current year. Please see chart above for Player Fees and Eligible Ages per Division.

Softball 8U, 10U, and 12U

For all Divisions and Age Groups, we will apply a $25.00 Discount for each registration after your first child.  
NO DISCOUNTS for Late Registrations!

PAYMENTS:

The GIYRA Baseball and Softball organization requires online payment via Credit/Debit Card at the time of registration.

IMPORTANT:  The registration process is not final until the online registration checkout process is completed, and payment is received.    Incomplete registrations may be subject to late fees.

GIYRA Baseball and Softball REFUND POLICY:

Full refunds will not be granted after uniforms have been ordered. Full and partial refund requests can be sent to [email protected]   Please provide your name, your child's name, and reason for the request. 

Refunds will be issued in the event that teams are not formed due to an insufficient number of players, available coaches, or teams to form a league, or as approved by the GIYRA Baseball and Softball Board for extraordinary circumstances.
